2002-02-02 -

I went to highschool in the city (New York City) at a place called Regis. When I went there tradition was important, as I am sure it still is, but they have changed some things since then.

Regis had a Headmaster (now it has a Principal) and a Dean of Discipline (now Dean of Students). This story involves the Dean of Discipline, who made sure all the students were following the S.O.P's (Standard Operating Procedures) of the school, and if you were found wanting you were sent to JUG (Justice Under God). And yes, it was a Catholic school. How'd ya guess?

The lockers were in the basement and connected to the cafeteria by way of a tunnel and two sets of swinging doors that were opposite of each other.

Lunch time rolled around and I took the opportunity to get my books for the afternoon classes, and grab some lunch. I placed the books I didn't need in the locker and retrieved the ones that I did need. I packed them up and made my way to the cafeteria.

As I was walking I wanted to see how much time I had to enjoy my lovely lunch, as so right after I went through the first set of doors I decided I would check the time.

Since I was wearing a long sleeve shirt I had to kind of whip my arm out to get the sleeve out of the way, and as I was whipping my arm out the opposite set of swinging doors swung open to reveal the Dean of Discipline. Unbeknownst to me he was walking straight into my hand... that was shaped like a fist for some reason.

Long story short, I accidently punched the Dean of Discipline across the face with the fist that just so happened to be attached to my watch arm.

He was quite startled, as was I. However, since I wasn't the one that was just punched I was a little more together and wondering how much JUG I was going to get. He looked at me, blinked 5 or 6 times and walked away without saying a word.

I then ate lunch and went to class, and he never bothered me again. Of course, he never bothered me to begin with.
